Lay Ministry

One of the things that makes Circle Fellowship unique is that we are lay led. Being lay led (see 'Lay Led' under 'About us' or click on link)  necessarily leads us into an internal lay ministry.  After all, there is no person whose job it is to minister to the congregation; we must minister to one another, or there will be no ministry.  And we do make effort to support one another in many ways. Especially in times of need we will find time to help each other out. One of our most important and meaningful acts of ministry was to support our member and friend Ellen through the final months of her life as she fought her breast cancer.  It turned out to be a very meaningful time for both her and her "Ellen's Angels" as those helping her were called, as Ellen had a fulfilling final few months, and so did her Angels.

Lay ministry often also refers to outreach by a church to support some aspect of the community, often in the area of social justice or sometimes in environmental issues. We do outreach to the community, but in a less organized way than we might.  Many of our members are involved in social justice or environmental efforts, or in efforts to suppport the arts. When one of our members needs assistance with such an effort, they will often come to the Fellowship to find the help that they need.

We are also working with Crooked Creek Community Council (Crooked Creek is the community of Indianpolis that is home to Fellowship) to provide support and possibly help on one or more projects for the community.
